Nominate Your Home or a Neighbor for the Montgomery Holiday Decorations Contest, Open Through December 8

Montgomery, IL –The Montgomery Beautification Committee will host its annual Holiday Decorations Contest to recognize homes and businesses for outstanding Holiday decorations that contribute to making "Montgomery Merry & Bright." Registration is now open for the contest, which kicks off the holiday season in the Village. Residents can nominate their home or someone else's by submitting the property address online at montgomeryil.org. Nominations for the 2024 contest will be accepted through December 8, the same night as the Annual Tree Lighting & Visit with Santa planned for Village Hall on Sunday, December 8, beginning at 5P.

"The Village Holiday Decorations Contest is one of the Beautification Committee's favorite times of the year," says Ben Brzoska, Village Trustee and chair of the Beautification Committee. "The entries are amazing and we enjoy driving around and seeing the incredible effort put into the displays."

Only one nomination per address is required for the judges to review a home or business's display. Committee members will visit all the nominated addresses on December 11 to recognize participants who meet and exceed the requirements. Residents are encouraged to ensure their lights are on and displays are complete by 5:00 that evening. In addition, the committee will place a sign recognizing participants in front of the property.

Addresses of the homes will be available online after judging is complete for the community to drive around and see the winning home and business locations. Brzoska adds, "Thank you to our residents for helping make Montgomery 'merry and bright', we love being able to recognize those that do their part in making Montgomery an awesome place to live."

The Village of Montgomery Beautification Committee will accept nominations through Sunday, December 8. Nominate a property via the Village website, montgomeryil.org, or email rmason@montgomeryil.org.
