Bear Down by Martin Flowers

Bears dropped their second straight game Sunday 29 to 9 to the Cardinals. Defense broke down and offense could not get going. Calls have started already for the firing pf Matt Eberfluess. We start another week off, yet the Bears still do not have directions that they are heading in. The Coaching staff and the players are the lack of communication. The season is at the midpoint and the rash of injuries on the offense line shows that the Bears did not invest in their core and that is protecting the Quarterback. The Bears need to find a way to get this season back on track with the Patriots coming up next and then heading into division play in which the Bears are expected to split the six games that end the season with the Seattle Seahawks. The best Bears can finish the season at right now is 9 and 8 which means they will be sitting out of post season play.

This is not the 10and 7 that most experts were pointing too, and all the offseason hype has not caught up with the Bears.
From my standpoint let’s look at the positives the Bears are making. Rookie Quarterback Caleb Williams is at pace to throw for 3000 yard 20 touchdowns, and this is with no offensive line protecting him and the running game that is starting to become balanced.

Caleb is a game manager and that is what we need him to do. Defense had one bad half and continued to play through injuries and maintain being one the premier units in the NFL. Nine wins is an improvement from the 7 and 10 finish last season and franchise Quarterback in Caleb Williams for the next 10 years means that this team overall is improved. Areas that need to be addressed are protecting the Quarterback and focusing on moving the chains. Up next the Patriots and the Bears need to win this one to position themselves to overcome these two losses in a row. Let’s see what the Bears Will do.
