Cubs will kickoff the 2025 season against the Dodgers on March 18th for a two-game set in Japan. Predictions for the Cubs range 85 to 90 wins. Last year the Cubs won 83 games and finished 10 games back of the Brewers in the NL Central. Cubs spent the off season improving the bull pen and adding Kyle Tucker which improves the Cubs’ chances of winning. They traded away Cody Bellinger and will be looking to add some speed and power to the lineup in steps Pete Crow Armstrong who is a 5-star player. This guy can run, hit and play the field great. Then the Cubs have Nico Horner, Dansby Swanson, and Ian Happ who bring defense and timely hitting. The Cubs are strong with Michael Busch looking to improve on last season’s performance. Cubs are looking to see an improvement in run production by manufacturing runs which means getting guys on base and focusing on small ball with the speed this club has.
Pitching will drive the Cubs this year and look for Jake Steele to come back this season and we will say he will win 20 games and focus on anchoring the staff to be the best in NL Central. Cubs will start out the season in a good position and continue to focus on improving every game. So, let’s sit back and kickoff this season and enjoy another season on the North Side.
